Joshi G. Prasad
Executive Director.
He is the key piece of the School’s gear and ensures the correct achievement of the objectives, compliance with the guidelines of the ELE USAL Group, and is in constant communication with the University of Salamanca. Likewise, he leads the administrative team and works together with the academic direction for the proper functioning of the school.
Mr. Joshi, who has a degree in Business Management, is currently studying Management and Leadership at the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has extensive experience of more than 20 years in management of companies related to the education sector. His goal is to create opportunities for at least 1 million people to have a multilingual experience during his career.
Due to his strong social commitment and deep human quality, he is a founding member of a non-governmental organization dedicated to providing shelter to homeless orphaned children.
In his free time he likes to travel, read, volunteer and enjoy nature.
Paula Reyes Álvarez
Academic Director
Born in Vigo (Spain), she holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics, specialising in ELE Methodology and Didactics, from the University of Vigo (Spain) and a degree in Hispanic Philology from the same university. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Spanish Language and Literature Teacher Training and a Postgraduate Degree in Applied Linguistics. She is a DELE examiner at all levels and has more than 13 years of experience in the world of ELE.
Paula has taught Spanish at different universities in different countries: Brazil, Portugal, USA and Poland. In 2015 she was awarded the ASELE Prize for her doctoral thesis ‘La formación del profesorado de ELE en evaluación auténtica de competencias’. She has published several scientific papers on competence teaching, authentic assessment of ELE and discourse interpretation.
Currently, she is the Academic Director of ELE USAL Bilbao and Barcelona, tasks which she combines with teacher training and academic counselling.
In her free time she liked to run, dance Sevilanas and enjoy the sea.
Gheily Jiménez
Course Coordinator and Spanish Teacher
Born in Venezuela, Gheily is an innovative and empathetic teacher with more than 20 years of teaching experience. She obtained her degree as a Teacher in Integral Education at the Instituto Universitario Pedagogico Monseñor Rafael Arias Blanco in Venezuela. She is also a DELE examiner for levels A1-A2 and is currently studying a Master’s degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE).
Gheily has been immersed in teaching Spanish as a foreign language for approximately 6 years, facilitating both general Spanish courses and preparation for DELE exams from A1 to C1 for adults, as well as CCSE preparation. She has experience in the implementation of language immersion programmes, mother tongue and language camps with children and teenagers. In addition, she has worked as a Spanish Teacher at the Bachillerato International Baccalaureate with the PAI language acquisition programme.
Working in countries such as Venezuela, Australia, Dubai and Spain has enabled her to develop multicultural skills in the area of education to provide her students with an integral education, incorporating activities that integrate art, music and film into her sessions.
In her free time she likes to pain, read and do handicrafts.
Ester Aguilar
Administrative Assistant and Official Examinations Coordinator
Born in Spain. Ester is diligent, decisive, responsible and organised, with a great vocation for customer service. Ester is the person who will accompany you from the moment you arrive at our school.
She has worked in similar positions with 10 years of experience in administrative tasks such as invoicing, document preparation, computer systems management, reception and customer service in complicated situations.
Ester is an Advanced Technician in Transport Management, issued by the Basque Government, and her long experience in the field of business administration and management allows her to efficiently carry out the organisation and organisation of a large part of the school’s logistics.
In her free time she likes to read, relax and enjoy time with her dogs in the countryside.
Celia Vicente
Spanish teacher.
Born in Bilbao, Celia is a lively, supportive teacher, committed to the planet, who is always in a good mood and in constant development. Her classes are dynamic and fun, which motivates her students to learn with enthusiasm and energy.
Celia has a degree in Primary Education – Hearing and Language (University of Salamanca) and also in Early Childhood Education (Pontifical University of Salamanca). She also holds the Initial Training Diploma for Spanish as a foreign language teacher, issued by Instituto Cervantes.
As for her experience, Celia is an expert in preparing students for the DELE A2 exams, as well as teaching Spanish Language sessions for levels A1 to B2.
In her free time she likes to go to the cinema, watch series, cook, travel and discover new cultures. She loves music and kickboxing.
Paula Jiménez.
Spanish Teacher
Born in Spain. Paula is empathetic, caring and a very creative person. She has been a Spanish teacher in Poland, Wales and The Netherlands, experience that allowed her to enjoy the intercultural enrichment of living and working abroad.
Paula holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of the Basque Country as well as 2 Master degrees: Master in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (University of Pablo Olavide) and Master in Creative Writing (University of Seville).
The emotional aspect is always present in her class dynamics, which makes learning with her a doubly valuable experience, as she knows how to reinforce the necessary knowledge to learn Spanish in an authentic way, while at the same time providing the necessary support and accompaniment so that her students are highly satisfied with the experience.
In her free time she likes enjoying nature and writing narrative.
Nerea Turiño.
Spanish teacher
Born in Spain. Narea is our teacher specialised in Spanish classes for young children, which mean that “her little ones”, as she calls them, always leave with a smile on their faces after their classes. Nerea also teaches sessions for adults at different levels and she enjoys preparing materials and dynamics for her students.
Her love of discovering new cultures has led her to work and study in different countries such as : Australia, Portugal and Italy.
She has a Masters Degree in Didactics of Spanish as a Foreign Language (Nebrija University) and a degree in Modern Philology – English- (University of León). Due to her specialisation, she loves to keep up to date with the latest resources and methodological innovations for the ELE classroom.
In her free time she enjoys travelling, meeting new people and visiting new places, music, nature and spending time with her dog, Dora.
